Your Investment Approach - Be my Guide
You are following one of the pre-determined investment strategies.
Your Investment Approach - I'll Decide
You are currently invested directly in a number of funds that have been made available to you. This approach allows you to make active decisions about where you want your money invested.
You are invested in the Easy Steps Lifestyle Strategy
The STEPS retirement strategy. If you use the STEPS retirement strategy, your Retirement Account will aim for growth in line with your appetite for risk when you are younger and aim to reduce risk and match your retirement objectives as you approach retirement age.
A simple 2 step process:
- Step 1: Select a Starting Point from a range of 3 risk profiled funds
- Step 2: Select an End Point from an range of 3 Likely outcomes
You are currently invested in a Lifestyle Strategy
A lifestyle strategy will invest your pension fund in riskier assets with good potential for growth when you are a long time from retirement. As you approach retirement, the lifestyle strategy will invest a greater proportion of your money in safer assets such as bonds and cash funds to help protect your pension fund as you near retirement.
You are currently invested in a self-selected fund or funds
|
You have chosen to take an active decision about where your money is invested. You have many options available as to how you invest your money whilst you're in a company pension plan, from high risk funds with good potential for growth to lower risk funds offering more stable (but potentially lower) returns. This 'hands-on' approach to pension investment requires you to reassess your fund choice over time. |
|
|
It is important that you regularly review the funds that you are invested in to ensure that they are appropriate to your circumstances. |

Certain funds have been labeled as 'Trustee Preferred Funds', i.e. funds that are favoured by the Trustees of your Scheme. |
The Personal Lifestyle Strategy (PLS) is an investment option available to you. The PLS provides a hands-off tailored pension investment solution.
PLS is designed to meet two very important needs for pension scheme members:
- It helps protect their pension fund value against market fluctuations as they get closer to their retirement date.
- It directs their pension fund value into appropriate funds that best match the benefits that a member is likely to take on retirement.
- The assets in these funds may be used for the purposes of securities lending in order to earn an additional return for the fund. While securities lending increases the level of risk within the fund it also provides an opportunity to increase the investment return.
- Fund returns are quoted before taxes and after a standard annual management charge which is displayed in the fund factsheet. Annual fund management charges are calculated and deducted based on the offer price of the fund. The unit price and value of the fund are always quoted after an allowance has been made for the fund management charge. The fund management charge will vary depending on the terms and conditions of your contract.
